  • Late Arrivals and Early Pickups
Please be sure to notify your campers counselors or site supervisor via Brightwheel of any expected lateness and absences. Please note that our program operates on a set schedule, and it can be extremely difficult for the counselors to accommodate chronic late arrivals. Parents are requested to have their children at the camp no later than 9:00 am. 9:00 am is the start of the camp day and is an integral part of their instruction. On-time arrivals also ensure your child will settle into the routine more quickly. Campers who do not arrive by 9:00 am will not receive breakfast. We understand that schedules shift and you may need to pick your camper up earlier than the 3:30 end of the camp day. Families who wish to pick up their camper prior to the camp dismissal time may do so no earlier than 12:30pm (Monday through Thursday). There is no early pick up offered on Friday Adventure days since the campers will be traveling during the camp day. Campers will not return to the camp site until 3:30pm on Adventure days. If you wish to pick up your camper early please notify your site supervisor via the Brightwheel app. We do not offer prorated tuition rates for families who wish to pick up early.

Electronics such as video game devices are not allowed. Personal cell phones must be kept in explorers backpacks. Please do not send your explorer with money. We cover all trip expenses and do not visit souvenir shops. explorers will not need money for any reason unless explicitly noted in the itinerary details of the weekly email.
  • Camp Groups
We keep a 1:6 adult to explorer ratio on trips with children ages 6 and up, and a 1:5 adult to explorer ratio on trips with children ages 4 and 5. Our homebase ratio is 1:10. We assign our explorers into smaller groups based on this ratio. This increases our group’s safety by providing the ability for super quick head counts on our excursions and also allows the children to bond with their counselor in a smaller, more intimate setting. Our explorers are broken into four age groups to ensure that each explorer enjoys experiences appropriate to his or her age. We also recognize the benefit of co-mingling between ages and occasionally do group activities with mixed age groups. • Jr. Backpackers is for Pre-K 4s entering Kindergarten 2024-25. These are campers born in 2019. The program focuses on play-based learning and introduces explorers to a variety of new skills and mediums while maintaining an age-appropriate structure. • Backpackers is for entering 1st-2nd graders 2024-25 school year. These are campers born in 2017 and 2018. Backpackers focuses on introducing explorers to various interests and skills in a structured environment while still encouraging freedom of exploration. • Trailblazers is for entering 3rd-5th graders 2024-25 school year. These are campers bon in 2014, 2015, and 2016. Trailblazers focuses on allowing explorers to further develop their personal interests and to pursue their passions by growing their confidence and independence. We try our best to divide our smaller camp groups with the following priorities in order: 1. A child’s established connection with an adult counselor 2. A child’s age 3. Parent’s request for a specific group 4. Our identification of new and existing camp friendships While we do organize explorers into smaller groups, our explorers enjoy ongoing flexibility to engage and interact with all of the explorers in their larger group, despite their small group designation. Many of our workshops and organized activities are designed for the group as a whole as well as time on the bus, during lunch, and playground. You can think of our groups as the desk groups in a typical elementary classroom setting. We’re all in class together with the benefit of added attention for each smaller group. **Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, age groups may remain separate for the duration of their time at camp, with no co-minging.
