About the Event
World Explorers Group will celebrate Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day at our NYC campuses on Friday, Nov 14, 2025. This annual event honors Ruby Bridges, who in 1960, at just six years old, became the first Black student to integrate into an all-white elementary school in New Orleans. Her bravery and resilience continue to inspire students to advocate for equity and inclusion.
To commemorate Ruby's historic steps, we will lead Explorers in walks & talks to discuss the importance of civil rights and how student voices can help create a more inclusive future from their appropriate World Explorers site.
As part of our celebration, the first 25 Explorers who register to participate in Walk to School Day will receive a FREE copy of the book, The Story of Ruby Bridges: An Inspiring Biography for Young Readers by Arlisha Norwood Alston.
